Best Residential Design Private House in Interior Design Excellence Awards 2021
Inspired by the sleek minimalism of Scandinavian and Japanese designs, this home is a visual storyboard that represents the conscious layering of earthy colours and natural materials. Carmen Terrace is the result of carefully balancing fragments of the existing structure with modern living.
A pared-down palette consisting of various natural materials were used throughout the entire house. In addition, a series of elegant arches were introduced to give a unique character and timelessness to the home, which inspired the curvaceous cuts in the homeowner’s furniture pieces.

Seaside Residences
A picture of tranquillity by design, this apartment is simplistic in nature and is the embodiment of sleek minimalism spurred by Japandi and Wabi-sabi designs. Balance and harmony were the critical drivers in conceptualising this home’s design, leading to monochromatic tones with clean surfaces to keep a neutral palette that expresses harmonious and calm living.

Eng Hoon Mansions
Japanese zen philosophy of wabi-sabi was incorporated into the concept in pursuit of an interior that evokes calmness and promoted well-being. A soothing palette of off-white, earth hues and wood tones was utilised to create a space that straddles luxurious and ruminant. The windows in the living room give a nod to the Art Deco era architecture found in Tiong Bahru.

Watten Residences
Combining a gentle colour palette with intelligent space planning, this home was designed to be an art gallery for this family of avid painters. Warm tones and wood textures throughout the home provide visual continuity and enhance a sense of flow from one room to another.
